For those who want to keep track of which parts of the Wild Atlantic Way they have traveled, for those who want to do it in stages and have a record or for anyone wanting a keepsake and an official record of their journey … there’s the Wild Atlantic Way Passport. What a great idea – and it’s a a simple one too! It’s a great way to keep track of the many spectacular and fascinating places you get to visit on this unique coastal journey along the western Irish seaboard.
The idea is that the hard back Passport is purchased at any of the 130 selected Irish Post Offices along the Wild Atlantic Way for €10.00 and visitors can get unique stamps at 188 discovery points, scenic spots and post offices along the 1600 mile/2600km scenic route. (Passports may also be purchased at the GPO in Dublin, and St Andrew’s Street Post Offices.)
There are 6 zones and once a zone is completed, identifiable by the stamps collected in the passport, visitors can receive a Wild Atlantic Way gift by calling into Tourist Information Offices. Don’t think you’ll get all the sites done in one trip? Well – what better reason to come back and complete the passport?
Discover sandy beaches, castles, forts, ancient monasteries and more!
As a further incentive (as if another incentive is needed to get planning your trip), people who complete the passport and achieve all the stamps are entered into a draw for ‘a holiday of a lifetime along the Wild Atlantic Way’.
